INGREDIENTS

1 tbsp Colavita Mediterranean Extra Virgin Olive Oil

2 tbsp unsalted butter

1 yellow onion, peeled and minced

1 clove of garlic

2 cans Falesca Romano Beans

1 1/2 tsp chili powder

1 tsp smoked paprika

1 tsp ground cumin, or to taste

1/2 tsp dried oregano

1 tsp salt, or to taste

1 tsp black pepper

2/3 cup broth (vegetable or chicken is good)

1 tbsp lime juice

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Heat olive oil and butter in a large frying pan over medium heat.
  2. Add finely minced onion and cook for about 5 minutes, until soft and translucent.
  3. Add garlic to the pan and cook for an additional minute.
  4. Add the romano beans, along with chili powder, paprika, cumin, oregano, salt, and black pepper. Stir everything together
  5. Pour in broth. Bring the mixture to a simmer and continue cooking for 7 to 8 minutes, occasionally stirring
  6. Remove the pan from heat and add the remaining butter and the juice from a lime. Mash the beans until you reach your desired consistency
  7. Add water if you want a creamier consistency
